Holy Cross was established nearly 100 years ago by German Lutheran imigrants seeking a place where they could gather around the Word of God and in the fellowship of other believers. The congregation was originally located west of Scott City, in the community of Amy. Some time later, the congregation built a small church building on the corner of 11th and Courth in Scott City. A few years later the number of people attending services led the congregation to more than double its size by adding on to the current building.

Today we have become a steady presence in the community known for our hand of mercy through our cooperative efforts and fundraising projects to help needy in our community.
